Swift is approximately 75 – 80% effective after 4 treatments. However, verruca(s) are caused by viruses with no definite cure, and success rates for all verruca treatments may vary and require more than 4 treatments. Moor Podiatry therefore cannot guarantee success levels of the treatment and full resolution of the verruca.
Does it hurt?
It is not uncommon for patients to experience discomfort during the treatment. Unlike most treatments for plantar warts, pain felt during the Swift treatment usually subsides quickly. The single use tip is applied to each verruca for 2 seconds and repeated 5 times.
What can I do after treatment?
As Swift treatment does not break the skin, there is no need for dressings or bandages. You can continue with your day as normal and no need to refrain from water or sports.
How many treatments will I need?
This is dependent on how you respond to treatment. The average number of treatments required is three or four.
Contraindications
- Swift cannot be used in conjunction with other verruca treatments
- Swift cannot be used; if you have diabetes, if you have any metalwork in your foot or ankle, or if you have any implanted electronic devices such as a pacemaker or cochlear implant.
- It is also unsuitable for people who are pregnant, breastfeeding, immunosuppressed, have poor healing, or those who have peripheral neuropathy or peripheral vascular disease.
Following initial assessment to check you are suitable for Swift Microwave Therapy, you can opt for a package of 4 or single Swift treatment.
The treatment is to be repeated at 3-4 week interval with a 3 month break after the 3rd treatment.
